"When you own your breath, nobody can steal your peace."

Did you know that in as little as 5 minutes each day, you can experience enhanced general wellness and bring more balance to your life with Mindful Breathing? My daily morning routine begins in meditation for a few minutes while listening to relaxing music as I focus on my breath. On days that I don't do this, I always feel OFF; like something is missing!

Mindful Breathing is a basic but very powerful meditation practice that can help relax the body, calm the mind, support emotional balance, enhance concentration and focus, and much more.

To start, find a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down. Set a timer for 2 - 5 minutes and gradually increase over time. Close your eyes and simply bring your attention to your breath - to its natural rhythm and flow, and the way it feels on each inhale and exhale. Just follow the breath, noticing the rise and fall of the chest and stomach, if the breath is long or short, if the breath is cool or warm, etc..... This can be done anytime, anywhere! (I've often done this while stopped at a red light or standing in line at the grocery store to help bring me back to the present moment.)

If (and when) there are thoughts that pop up, allow them and then let them go, gently turning your attention back to the physical sensation of the breath. This is a process that takes some practice and patience. Over time, it will become easier, as your mind becomes more quiet and calm. It's fun, play with it, and let me know how you do!

Wishing you a great week with lots of deep breaths & smiles!

Be Well.
