Welcome to June!

Dear Yoga and Wellness Enthusiasts:

As we welcome the warm days of June, it's the perfect time to renew our commitment to health and well-being. Summer is a season of growth and abundance, and just as nature blooms and flourishes....so can we!

The beginning of a new month is a great opportunity to set new goals. Start with fresh intentions, mindset and focus. Choose 1 - 3 goals listed below or create your own. Be sure to write them down to help keep you accountable!

Here's a few suggestions to help you start:

  1. Start or Increase Your Yoga Practice: Aim to practice at least one or two yoga sessions per week. Consistency is key to deepening your practice and feeling the full benefits of yoga.
  2. Mindfulness Meditation: Set aside 5 - 10 minutes each morning or evening for meditation. This practice can help calm your mind, reduce stress, and enhance your overall well-being. Try listening to this short guided Body Scan Meditation.
  3. Hydration Challenge: With the warmer weather, it's crucial to stay hydrated. Aim to drink half of your weight (in lbs) in ounces daily. If you weigh 160 lbs, then try to drink 80 oz of water/day, unless advised not to by your medical practitioner. Add a slice of lemon or cucumber for a refreshing twist!
  4. Healthy Eating: Incorporate more fruits, vegetables and whole foods into your diet. I love to start each morning with a green smoothie with fresh ingredients. Commit to eliminating processed foods with a list of ingredients you can't pronounce.
  5. Outdoor Activities: Take advantage of the beautiful weather by spending more time outdoors. Whether it's a daily walk, gardening, hiking, or a bike ride....connecting with nature can be so grounding and energizing. Stay tune for outdoor Yin yoga on the waterfront on Sunday mornings later this summer!
