"Taking any kind of break from drinking alcohol is empowering, healthy and necessary."

Happy New Year!

I made the decision in 2022 to give up alcohol as a new year's resolution for one year, as I focused on opening my holistic business. However, I didn't really believe that I'd be able to do it! It was difficult for the first couple months, but it became easy over time. The cravings went away, and one year slowly turned into two years without a drink....

Last week during the holidays, I poured myself a glass of wine. After taking a couple sips, I quickly realized that I didn't enjoy it anymore. It didn't taste good or feel right, so I poured the rest down the sink. I'm choosing to continue an alcohol-free lifestyle. I am happier without it!

As we step into 2024, many of us are considering new beginnings and healthier lifestyles. If you're committing to a dry January or are sober curious, this message is for you!

Tips for a Successful Dry January or Sober Curiosity Adventure

  1. Set Clear Intentions: Define your goals for the month, whether it's a complete alcohol break or a more moderate approach.
  2. Stay Hydrated: Choose herbal teas, infused water, and refreshing beverages to keep yourself hydrated.
  3. Mindful Alternatives: Discover non-alcoholic alternatives for your favourite drinks, maintaining the joy without the alcohol content.
  4. Explore New Activities: Channel your energy into trying something new, like a yoga class, meditation practices, or outdoor activities.
  5. Connect with Others: Join virtual social groups or local events that align with your wellness goals, connecting with a community on a similar journey.

Check out some of the dangers of alcohol I wrote about in last year's blog, and find other available resources for inspiration by clicking here.

Let's make this January be all about embracing a positive, transformative experience for your mind, body, and soul. Whether you're making healthier lifestyle changes, going completely dry or simply exploring a more mindful relationship with alcohol, you can do it!

I'm here to support you on your wellness journey!

Wishing you a month filled with self-discovery and radiant health.

Be Well,
